Banshee is an application that allows one to manage his personal music library. It also comes with support for an iPod.

KDE DAAP ioslave

In the kdereview SVN module you can find a daap:/ kioslave, that basically allows you to browser shared music libraries using Konqueror.

Rhythmbox

Rhythmobox is a Gnome application similar to Banshee. It allows you to browse shared music libraries as well.

VLC media player

If compiled against Avahi, the VLC media palyer is able to stream media over the wire using its own DNS SRV type to announce media streams.
